Videos were too long to do just one, I had to trim them.  Enjoy the sequels to each pup!  My video is not completely true to the colors,  hopefully when we can go outside you can see their color better.  They are not ready for that yet.

Their coats are growing quickly!  We can no longer see through the soft baby fuzz to pink faces. They are fully furry now!!!

We begin with a group shot.  

We will break it all down later with individual photos and descriptions.  Currently, they only like puppy pile positions!

  I have to admit, there is not a pick better than the rest, this is a win, win, win for all.

Our first future puppy owner has made their pick.  Romeo is under contract and unavailable.

The Valentine's Eve Litter's eyes are still shut and will be for some time. There has been growth in these cuties. They are now on a grey blanket instead of the brown one; laundry is a constant.  Markings are beginning to become clear as the pups have gained weight and their coats are growing out.

I am adding this announcement: All picks have been taken. There are no puppies available at this time.  Only the first pick has chosen.  Once 2nd pick chooses we can move to the next one.  Again, there is no way to go wrong with these sweethearts.  We will be taking our ad down from KSL on Thursday.  My husband opened that account...and I don't know the password in order to get in and take it down. It is the little things that sneak up on us!  He is busy after school this week (facilitator/teacher at the Elementary and Middle School )so he will not have time to get to it right away.  At this point the only reason we would put it back up is if something fell through between now and April 10th.  I don't foresee that being a problem.  We have wonderful families for this group! Thank you!

 Who can we see in the below pictures and what can I tell you about them?

1.On the far left, is Romeo, a male and the runt. He is apricot and is the tiniest little snuggler, so endearing. His name was chosen from the Shakespeare Play, "Romeo and Juliet".  He is currently, our first picks choice and under contract.

2. Next, is Butter Cup, a female.  Her name was chosen from one of my favorite romantic comedies-"The Princess Bride."  She will melt your heart just like butter! Such a pretty girl!

3. In the middle, on the top, is Aphrodite, a female. She is named after the Goddess of Love. She loves to be in the thick of the group and sleeps soundly with her family! She is a lovey.

4. On the right, is Diamond in the Ruff, a male.  He is named after the romantic character in Aladin and because of the part diamond, part heart shape on his forehead.  Watch out ladies, he is a loving, gentleman and a charmer.

5. Under the pile, is Sweet Pea, a female.  She is a close rival for the runt but about 5 paperclips of weight more than Romeo.  She is named this as we often find her snuggled under everyone else.  She sleeps patiently on the bottom of the puppy pile. I find it adorable our little Pea is on the bottom.  What a princess she is.

As their hair grows we will be able to determine how curly or straight their coats are.  Will they take more of the poodle curl, or the maltese straight?  In just a few weeks we will see great changes! Updates to come!  Enjoy!

Did I mention how grateful I am to have such great families for these furry babies?! Once our pups are gone, I look forward to news on how they are doing. We have made some good friends in this process! The above picture is why we do what we do and it warms the soul to see it!

Tips for authenticity.

Today, I received a call from a potential puppy owner from out of state. She asked a question and she is not the first one to ask me.

  She asked me how can one tell if an online add is real or not?  I think the bottom line is, see it, touch it and then buy it.

But if that is not possible, I added this post to give some guidelines concerning the matter.

Allow me to open with one of my experiences. If you don't care about that part, skip to the bullets below for the tips.

True Story Time:

 I Call It: My Turn To Be Bamboozled, Lesson Learned!!

I tried to sell my cell phone on-line. It was an older model and I was told I could get a better price if I sold on-line.  I really didn't have any bites for 3 days.

Then.....

I received a better offer than what I was asking for!  Admittedly, I was naive and fell for it. I packaged my phone and went to mail it.  The person who was buying it kept texting me things, like:

"Have you got my address right?"

"Okay, are you sending it right now?"

"Go ahead and put it in the mail and send me a picture of the receipt and then I will send you the money."

The last text is the one that got me!  I was like....oh no.
Unfortunately, I had just paid to have it mailed.  So, I asked the post master to hand me my package back.   I thought if I could send the picture of the receipt and make sure I had the money, it would be fine to mail it.
I took a picture of the receipt and attached  it ot a text, while I stood in the Post office.  The "Buyer" said great the money is already sent.  But I checked my PayPal.
 Sure enough, the money promised did not go into my PayPal. And never did it.

Feeling foolish and depressed with how bad people can be, I got my money back and took my phone with me.  I never did sell that phone.

I still got a few annoying texts after that-from different numbers!

It wasn't until later, that I learned multiple phone numbers is a really bad sign.

I want to help others avoid that  same pitfall.

Here are my tips, though not full proof, they have helped me.

• Does any of the information seem off in any way? Are there misspellings or conflicting information?  If so,  move on.  It just isn't worth it.
• Is the ad in multiple places, or posted multiple times? Red flag.
• Is the picture difficult to make out? Red flag.
• Also, is a photo to good to be true? Can you see if it was pulled from a random site?  The answer is, yes!!!  I chose a random picture of a blue eared poodle.  Follow the instructions below to see if you can discover where I got the photo! Then try it yourself on something else.
• The following is instructions from google with a photo that I added.  
  1. On any website (or for this example, on the image of the poodle below) , right-click an image and select Copy image address or Copy image location. 
  2. On images.google.com or any Images results page, click Search by image . (make sure you click on the camera!!
     
  3. Click Paste image URL.
  4. Paste the URL you copied into the box.
  5. Click Search by image.
• Search using an image URL 

Back to my own words, once again.

• Is the deal to good to be true?  Then it isn't true.
• Is the seller out of town when you want to stop in for the item?  Do they say they have someone to "drop it off"?  This is a huge red flag!!!! Run away!
• Is the seller able to offer more than 1 photo of an item? If they can't that is another huge red flag!!!
• Are they able to give you clear information concerning the item? Positive
• Does the seller have references? Positive but be cautious.
• Is the seller pushy or urgent? Run away!!!
  
  

VALENTINE'S EVE STARTING AT THE CRACK OF MIDNIGHT, OUR SECOND BATCH OF PUPPIES ARE BORN!!!

Here is our Chloe (Dam) at 3 months old. I let her get fluffy.
Such a cute puppy;  I wanted to include it on this announcement post! She is now 4 years old and a wonderful mother!!!

Yes, the floor is dirty, sigh. That is due to my boys cleaning the fireplace and not myself.  The floor, literally, has black soot on it, not to mention the doggy chew, but that is to be expected. Kids can only learn by doing, even if it means twice as much work on the mother for teaching her children and she having to go back to do the chore properly.  Truly, my boys worked hard though, so I don't wish to make them sound lazy!  They were just novice.  No worries, I have since cleaned it up and shampooed the carpet, several times in fact, since this was taken when Chloe was only 3 months old.  Four years later, I do not regret teaching my children to clean .  Now, my boys no longer leave soot...most of the time.

(Back to the business at hand)

This is our kennel while the puppies are young.

                 They get to have my entire den.

  Now this same space (as the above picture) hosts our 2nd batch of puppies. We are calling this batch: Valentine's Eve Litter.  

I have given my den to our pawed family. There is a water proof layer and then the other layer above for grit (flannel table cloth). I have to change these a lot!!!  Very scientific in this household, lol. 

2 Male and 3 Female

Chloe and the 5 beauties shortly after birth within the kennel.  Not a perfect picture. Chloe has very short hair in this picture.  I had her groomed with a short cut to make it easier on her with the puppies.

We keep the kennel open to a larger indoor, yet fenced area that allows for play and training for the puppies.

The Birth

I thought we might make it another holiday puppy batch, but we were 24 hours short. On the stroke of midnight, Valentine's Eve Chloe had her first puppy.  The others came in quick succession with the final pup coming at 2:30 am.

Naming the Pups for Their Spotlights

We have 5 beauties.  We will be naming them as we did our last batch in order to feature the puppies for our reservation families for their picks.  It allows families to know each puppy.

 Since they are Valentine-ish puppies be prepared for our inventive names. We give it a little time to see what they are like.  But we already have a pretty good idea of what their names will be for the blog. However, as they go to their forever families they will receive their permanent name. If I know the name and families do not mind, I will add their forever name in parenthesis.  However, it will not change in my blog for continuity.

The above photos are not posed. Mother and pups don't need that frustration right now, they were just born a few hours ago! Please look to future posts for detailed pictures on how our puppies really look.  You can watch their growth as their tiny bodies become more defined and soon they will be poof balls!

Meet the Puppies

If you want to meet our puppies, we encourage you to visit once their eyes have fully opened.  We ask that you respect our rules on cleanliness and we can discuss that if you want to make an appointment over the phone or by email. Puppies are susceptible to illness until they have had all their shots.  For this purpose, we have some simple guidelines for a visit.  

What they are doing now and the care they are receiving.

Mother is best.  Currently, their mother is seeing to every need they have.  Cecil, the sire, is delighted they are here.  That is his role as a father.  Chloe does the work. 

We, on the other hand, are responsible for a safe environment, nourishment and socialization. 

We make certain our puppies are on surfaces that prevent swimmer puppy.  They need grit in order to develop strength in their leg muscles.  Around their kennel is a larger fenced in area that takes over our fireplace and den.  I then put down a waterproof layer and another that is not slick that I have to change regularly.  This allows them to play and adds to my ever going laundry.  It's OK, I like the smell of clean linens!

Socialization

Our fireplace is in the middle of our home, so while we do not touch the puppies a lot, they are incorporated into our family and we socialize them immediately.  As they get older, we begin taking them outside on a schedule to start the potty training process and to enjoy the outdoors.  They will be handled much more, not because they are not still susceptible to illness but because it is needed; they need the affection so we adhere to clean hands and clothes before puppy playtime.

We will also feed them on a schedule when the time comes.

Payment for Reserving a puppy: $100 Cash is the only way to reserve a puppy immediately.  Otherwise, we use ZELLE, POPMONEY OR PAYPAL, it must clear within 4 days or the reservation is cancelled. This is what we use when buyers are not nearby and unable to give cash immediately. Checks can be sent but the puppy will not be reserved until cleared.

Payment for buying the puppy: Must be in cash $650 total.  If the puppy had been previously reserved then the $100 will go toward the payment, leaving the buyer only $550 in cash for the Bill of Sale and rights to the puppy. We do not allow for checks or other forms of payment as the exchange results in the puppy going to their new home.

The puppy will remain with the Sample Name (Seller’s) and its mother until the Sample Name (Seller’s) deem the puppy is old enough to leave its mother and join its new home, usually 8 weeks’ time from birth.

The deposit of $100.00 will go toward the total cost of the puppy which is $650.00 and is non-refundable except in the case that the puppy becomes not available to be sold.  In which case, the Sample Name (Seller’s) will return the $100.00 in a way most acceptable to both parties.

Designer Maltese and Poodle combination puppies!

This is our first ever batch of puppies. They were born on the 4th of July 2017!!!

We named them from left to right: Yankee Doodle (light apricot with white highlights), Independence (Silver), and Liberty (Silver with white highlights).

The above features our Sire.  Cecil, he is apricot with some white highlights.  Isn't he adorable, he had us with those bright brown eyes!!!

This is our family with Chloe, the Dam.  She was our divine find!!! She started this whole thing for us.  We had no intention of breeding.  However, her wonderful personality and the spot she filled in our family became an inspiration and we decided to breed.

I wanted to give sample pictures of how loving my dam and sire are with their puppies.  They play and are so friendly!  I want to show some of their different shades as well. This is our 4th of July Litter.  They are old enough to play outside and in the kitchen.  These were taken for their forever families so they could watch them grow.
